Rescheduled Date TBA

Note Due to Covid-19 closures, the Downtown Sonoma tasting will be rescheduled

The town of Sonoma, home of the last Spanish-Mexican Mission, offers a unique blend of wine tasting, history, shopping and restaurants, all centered around the historic Sonoma Plaza (the largest town square in all of California). On this itinerary for April we’ve selected three tasting rooms located right off the plaza: Cochon Tasting Bar, Fulcrum Wines and Passaggio Wines. Enjoy this walkable tasting adventure in downtown Sonoma!

Cochon Tasting Bar

Cochon Wine Bar is home to Odisea Wine Company and Cochon Wines, a partnership between Adam Webb and Mike Kuenz. Adam and Mike started their companies to produce wines from varietals that they're truly passionate about; particularly varietals found in the south of France and the Iberian Peninsula. Their goal is to make wines in small lots from unique vineyard sites around California and let the fruit and the vineyard speak for themselves.

Opened in 2017, the Cochon Tasting Bar allows visitors to taste the wines of Cochon and Odisea alongside co-brands Gardienne des Vignes and Elévé. Just off the Sonoma Square, this is a great spot to enjoy a wide variety of wines as well as Cheese & Charcuterie and European-style Espresso.

Wines Produced: Red blends, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rosé, white blends

I can't fully describe how happy my boyfriend and I were to come across Cochon! First off the place is adorable, it has a very welcoming, clean, bright, charming feel. We were able to sit down, relax, enjoy the weather and atmosphere and each other while sipping and snacking on their delicious charcuterie board. I just can't say enough about all the lovely sommeliers and people we met there. -A.M., Yelp Review

Fulcrum Wines

A Fulcrum is the point on which an object balances. This was the name winemaker David Rossi chose for his winery when he founded it in 2005—years before the word balance became an essential element in any discussion about great New World Pinot Noir. For David, a Fulcrum represented the style of winemaking he spent years refining. It was also an ideal metaphor for his belief in leveraging the finest grapes to create balanced, complex and age-worthy Pinot Noirs.

While Pinot Noir is a specialty, Fulcrum crafts a nice selection of cooler-climate varietals like Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. The modern tasting room is a half block from the main Sonoma square and includes a tasting of five current release wines from Fulcrum.

Wines Produced: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rosé, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc

This winery is heavy in Pinots. All of them were great and easy drinkers. They also served a Gewurztraminer that was outstanding. Great quality wine and customer service. This place is hidden gem! -J.L., Yelp Review

Passaggio Wines

In 2004, Cindy Cosco left a 15 year Law Enforcement career in Northern Virginia to pursue a passion for winemaking. She gained experience at Chateau St Jean, Crushpad, and Chimney Rock in Napa before branching out on her own in 2012. In 2014 she opened the tasting room in downtown Sonoma, and in 2016 opened the Passaggio Winery in Sonoma, just minutes from the Tasting Room. Today Passaggio produces approximately 1800 cases. Cindy produces both traditional varietals and off-the-beaten path varietals like Trousseau Gris and Verdejo.

Located right off Sonoma Square, Passagio is especially well-known for their white wines. Stop by to enjoy great wines, people and atmosphere.

Wines Produced: Unoaked Chardonnay, Trousseau Gris, Chenin Blanc, Rose, Verdejo, Sauv Blanc, GSM, Rosso (Italian Blend), Connect (Bordeaux Blend), and more

Had a fantastic tasting experience at Passagio yesterday! With a full suite of delicious white and red wines there is something for everyone. The servers were fantastic during the tasting, offering informed suggestions throughout and taking time to expound on each wine. - B.M., Google Review
