Foley Sonoma Winery

Nestled on a gentle knoll shadowed by the nearby Mayacamas Mountains, the site of Foley Sonoma typifies the peaceful, serene beauty of the Alexander Valley. Winemaker Rosalio Fernandez has a hands-on approach to his Winemaking, equally interested in bringing in beautiful fruit and thoughtfully tending to wine as it gracefully ages. The majority of the fruit is estate grown on the 26-acre property.

Foley Sonoma is a direct to consumer and micro winery, with limited production of around 4,00 cases per year. Panoramic views and the stunning tasting room esthetic let you feel immersed in Alexander Valley at all times throughout your visit. Visitors rave about the quality of the hospitality team, the outstanding views and the high-caliber wines.

Wines Produced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Rose of Pinot Noir, Tannat, and Petit Verdot.

The scenery is stunning, the tasting room is beautiful and pleasant, and the wine was top notch. In particular, the staff gave an excellent tasting. They were extremely knowledgable without being condescending. Will definitely return! -LI, Google Review

HANNA Winery

HANNA Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a world famous cardiac surgeon, who was eager to find a place in the country to continue the farming heritage of his upbringing. His daughter, Christine Hanna, took over management of the winery in 1991, and guided the winery’s expansion to become an iconic producer of Sauvignon Blanc, as well as handcrafted estate grown Burgundy and Bordeaux varieties.

The HANNA Winery tasting room in the Alexander Valley features incredible views of the estate Red Ranch Vineyard. Visitors will enjoy an extensive range of wines produced by HANNA, from the Bordeaux styles of the Alexander Valley and rugged Mayacamas Mountains, to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the cool Russian River Valley.

Wines Produced: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Red Blend, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon

This winery is amazing! The Alexander Valley property is so breathtaking! My wife and I have been to 199 wineries and Hanna is one our top 3 views and properties! The wines are top notch and the tasting room staff is awesome! -DW, Google Review

Medlock Ames at Bell Mtn Ranch

Medlock Ames is a family-owned estate vineyard and winery at Bell Mountain Ranch, which lies at the southeast corner of Alexander Valley. Chris Medlock James and Ames Morison started the winery in 1998 with a goal to produce delicious wines in an ethical and sustainable fashion.

Bell Mountain Ranch spans 338 acres with 55 acres of vineyards, 800 olive trees, a market garden and a wildlife corridor extending across the remaining untouched forest. The entire property is farmed organically with no insecticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides while the winery is solar-powered. Visitors to the ranch will enjoy wines from 100% organically grown grapes grown entirely on the estate.

Note: This is a by-appointment experience only. Because of the small-group nature of the tasting, the normal waived tasting cannot be applied. However, Medlock Ames is generously offering a 2-for-1 tour and tasting, which includes a wine and cheese tasting experience offered in October 2020 to WineryHunt club members. This experience is communal up to 12 guests, so very intimate and memorable.

Wines Produced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Estate Red

I’m not sure it’s even possible to have a better wine tour than this place offers. Not only the tour but the quality of the wine and the time they took with our small group to go over everything was exceptional. -GM, Google Review

Stuhlmuller

The Stuhlmuller family enjoys a dual reputation as first-class grape growers and as proprietors of a respected, sustainable vineyard-driven winery that they started in the mid-90s. Stuhlmuller Vineyards produces roughly 10,000 cases of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon annually, with the recent addition of extremely small allotments of estate Zinfandel.

The vineyard’s unique terroir creates Chardonnay fruit with classic Alexander Valley tropical characteristics, food-friendly citrus acidity, and a distinctive mineral touch. The Cabernet Sauvignon offers enticing hints of sage and bay leaf coupled with the region’s signature flavors of rich cherry, black fruit, and cocoa.

Guided by gifted winemaker Leo Hansen, Stuhlmuller Vineyards handcrafts, small-lot wines that embody a rich, expressive charm, and a distinctive sense of place.

Wines Produced: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Dessert wine

A picturesque winery set amongst the vineyards... the property is truly spectacular. The Zin is excellent, the Cabernet outstanding. We will definitely be back! -BM, Google Review
